The HVF carbon fiber blanks of the Caldia spinning rods feature a very pleasant handling and are distinguished by their exceptionally actions. The HVF carbon fiber material enables the construction of very light and slim – at the same time – extremely resilient blanks.

The X45 carbon fiber construction leads to an improved compression of the blank thanks to the special positioning of the carbon fibers – the blanks are very distortion-proof, enable more precise casts and can be controlled perfectly during the fight and the lure presentation. Aditionally the rods get more resistance against damages.

The V-Joint technology stands for an exclusively developed, BIAS carbon fiber layer at the spigot joints, made by DAIWA. This special material makes this usually sensitive part of a rod very robust and improves the bending curve at the same time. We particularly paid attention to the rod’s balance – the construction of the handle section, the selection of premium, very light Fuji Alconite K-guides and the used materials together stand for the perfect feeling of the rods and enable effortless fishing over hours.

Valet av haspelspö styrs oftast av kastvikt och spölängd. Kastvikt är tillverkarens rekommendation på hur tunga beten man kan fiska med. Spölängd mäts ofta i fot (1’ = 30,48cm). För lättare fiske efter ex abborre och ädelfiske är ofta ett spö med kastvikt på 5-15g och en längd upp till 7’ att rekommendera. Vid allroundfiske efter ex abborre, gädda, gös, havsöring lämpar sig ett spö med kastvikt på 10-40g och en längd kring 7-9’.

Aktion är en benämning på hur klingan böjer sig när man sätter press på toppen och beskrivs på engelska enligt följande:

  • Extra Fast (Ultra Fast): betyder att toppen böjer sig mycket lättare än resten av klingan som är relativt styv.
  • Fast: böjer drygt en tredjedel av klingan.
  • Medium-Fast: böjer ungefär hälften av klingan.
  • Medium (Moderate): böjer ungefär 3/4 av klingan.
  • Slow: beskriver en parabolisk böjning av i stort sett hela klinga.

Vanligt förenklade, svenska begrepp att beskriva aktion med är topp-, halv- och helaktion.

Olika aktioner lämpar sig för olika fisken. "Extra Fast" och "Fast" ger mer känsla till betet och snabbare mothugg, men den styva klingan hämmar drillningsförmågan och ger inte samma "slungeffekt" vid utkast som "Medium" och "Slow"-aktion.
